Psychology is a word made from two Greek roots:
1. Psyche ~ soul, the invisible animating entity that occupies the physical body. Its animal symbol is the butterfly
2. Logos ~ word, thought, and principle
My approach to the practice of Analytical Psychology, also called Jungian Analysis
is based upon the two realities psyche and logos. The process can be described as tuning into your psyche’s expression of its mysteries as it animates you, the individual. Through the practice of such logos you can come into a more life-supporting and energizing relationship with your psyche, your soul, the foundation of your very being.
Psychotherapy
The Greek root of therapy is to attend, and to heal. The psychotherapist attends to the individual in order to heal or make whole the animating entity, the butterfly, within.
Being seen, heard, and understood at this level by your therapist brings about a deeper more loving and compassionate relationship with yourself. Giving such careful attention through lively interaction and acceptance is the foundation of my practice.
